Obey Your DJ was installed in September 2025 for the City and Guilds Art school MA show.
The immersive film (developed with footage from the ensemble performance project ‘Mind and Senses Purified’) was experienced in the darkness solo before re-entering the bright overhead lights. The detritus from a collective bonding ritual ‘the murmuration of the human’ was over illuminated. As costumes turned to cuddles, decorations hung wearily after the ecstasy of dance had depleted.
What was left? Tired muscles and melted folks – the interior and exterior world no longer clearly defined.
